There is an amazing hand-painted Chinoiserie wallpaper at Pitzhanger Manor, Sir John Soane's country house in Ealing, London. In 2018 I was on the team of three recreating the original Chinese wallpaper from scratch. We're incredibly proud of the result. It took 6 months and was an amazing experience!

This surface pattern was designed by Rachel Spelling for Studio Spelling, in response to her time painting the epic Chinese wallpaper at Pitzhanger Manor in Ealing, London. It can be ordered by the square metre and can be painted on or off-site. Scale and background colour can be adjusted to suit the space. Seen here with Farrow and Ball Stiffkey blue. The breathtaking Chinese wallpaper at Pitzhanger Manor was hand-painted from scratch by a team of three artists in the winter of 2018 and is now open to the public. Alasdair Peebles, Nicky Pasterfield and Rachel Spelling spent six months on-site recreating the wallpaper. There are literally thousands of leaves in the wallpaper, and each one was painted by hand using the painstaking Chinoiserie three-stage method.
