23.4.2011: officer sounding horn to rally soldiers in battle from the so-called Grand Ludovisi sarcophagus which was found near the Porta Tiburtina in Rome in 1621. The sculpture was probably executed in the middle of the 3rd century and may have been made for Herennius Etruscus, son of the emperor Decius or of Herennius's mother Etruscilla. From Ludovisi collection, Museo Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Altemps, Rome.
