Superconducting Fault Current Limiters (RSFCL) is another practical way to improve the transient stability of a power system by limiting the fault current regarding technical and economical constraints. As superconductors have a high non-linear resistance the superconductor can be used as a Fault Current Limiter (FCL). The superconductor makes it possible to have a quickly increased resistance and be variable from a superconducting state to a normal conducting state.
