Getting into the Games: Olympic Women

Known as the “world’s fastest woman,” Florence Griffith Joyner (AKA “Flo Jo”) was 1 of 11 children in the project homes of LA. Joyner had to drop out of college to support her family but her coach, recognizing her potential, was able to find her financial aid to continue. She was known for her incredible speed.
