I loved the window project that Lisa at Serendipity Chic Design did. Her husband found some great old windows at the dump! Soon after her post, I saw an ad for windows that had been taken out of a house from 1865. I talked my husband in to driving 100 miles roundtrip to go pick some up. Yes, in a snowstorm!! These started out as cheap white plastic body parts. I used black plastic garbage bags and a heat gun to create the wrinkled skin. Then, either dark woodstain or flat camo spray paint to cover the shine. Several colors of spray paint and then finishing touches of craft paint for the colors. Then a covering of matte sealant to finish it off. I'm not sure if they should have been lighter in color to show up better in the dark.
