The open space of The Violet Hour speakeasy in Chicago with full lights on. During its hours of operation this establishment has much dimmer lighting. The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) is proud to present the third-annual Open House Chicago, a free, city-wide, behind-the-scenes look at many of the city’s great places and spaces. 150 buildings will be open on October 19-20, 2013 (typically from 9am-5pm, check individual site listings for times).
The Music Box Theatre is a great place to see a movie. Whether it is a new feature, an old classic, a hard to find foreign or indie film, or a fun midnight showing of a cult classic, you are sure to find something to see (check their website to see what is currently playing). Their best deals are on Mondays, when tickets for any show are only five dollars and popcorn and soda is buy one, get one free.
