Chanel claimed Arthur Edward ‘Boy’ Capel was the love of her life. in 1919 Capel was killed in a car accident and shattered Chanel's world personally and professionally. 25 yrs later, Coco explained to a friend: “His death was a terrible blow to me. In losing Capel, I lost everything. What followed was not a life of happiness I have to say.”
