The 'Cradle with Garlands' Faberge Egg ~ made in 1907 ~ for Czar Nicholas II to present to his Mother. This egg was commissioned to celebrate the birth of Czarevich Alexei Nicholaievich, son of Czar Nicholas II ~ the long awaited heir to the Romanov throne. The surprise inside was the first portrait of the Czarevich in a medallion surrounded by diamonds. This egg is currently in a private collection.

At age 22 Alix bought the most expensive part of her jewell collection in 1895-1896.
THE ROMANOVS JEWELRY - This brooch with sapphire of 130,5 c. belonged to grandmother of Nikolay II, Empress Maria Alexandrovna and she got it as a wedding present. The brooch was made ca 1840s, the sapphire is surrounded by diamonds. Was sold by Sotheby's in 2011 and estimated for 6,259,000 Swiss Franks.
In 1913, Faberge created the most famous Easter egg, the Winter Egg given by Tsar Nicholas II to is mother the Dowager Tsarina Marie Feodorovna. It was made of frosted rock crystal set with diamonds in platinum. The gift became so popular that it was immediately followed by a range of jewellery designed in the similar "ice" style. This pendant was designed by Albert Holmstrom
