She was 37 when she lost her nephew Thomas in the bombing of Pearl Harbor.And she was 97 when her tiny apartment was shaken and battered by the collapse of the twin towers on Sptember 11, 2001.

Nettie Brazeau Goings (Money) was born in 1856 at Pine Ridge Reservation. She was of mixed heritage, Lakotan, French and African American. Her father was frontiersman John Brazeau. Her mother was either Brings Blue (Hintoakdi) or Sings. She had children of several mates, one of which was Samuel Goings, one of which was ira Lynch (Linch).
