Nanoviv 'Venezuela' #2 | by Mikaels orchids A local Pleurothallid grower did something similiar with a large porous lava rock. She set the rock in a large tray of water and planted miniature lepanthes, etc. in the nooks and crannies. The rock naturally pulls up water from the tray and maintains a perfect little microclimate for the cloud forest babies.
EpiWeb-IIS Grow pipe
This is the first EpiWeb-IIS (Integrated Irrigation System) grow pipe I started. Its actually Lindas and all plants are from her Bulbophyllum collection. This setup is standing free without cover in our livingroom and has been running ~9 weeks. When it was started there was no moss at all. If you want to know more about the EpiWeb-IIS system you can look here www.flickr.com/photos/34099682@N04/sets/72157612656332401/ here www.epiweb.se/epiwebiis2.htm
