this actually gave me an idea for a totally different thing with a wreath haha styrofoam wreath, right? but then buy a ton of pins, and attach my paper stars to the pins, and jab 'em in to the styrofoam! i've been trying to think of how to make an origami star wreath for forever now! and i just figured it out! thanks to this.
CANDY CORN BUDS: Pick a few clean-looking branches from your yard and hot-glue kernels onto them in clumps of twos & threes in various spots, concentrating on the ends & the Vs where the twigs branch off. Wedge the trunk of the branch into a small Styrofoam or floral square (available at crafts stores) & rest it in the base of a vase. Fill the vase to the brim with corn to cover the Styrofoam.
I love this little tree! This candy cane topiary from Pizzazzerie is also made from a Styrofoam cone. The cone is covered with Royal Icing and the candy canes are set in the icing, which hardens when it dries. The tree is attached to a candle holder using a floral tube. Check out this tutorial. i feel like this is a good idea but could be way cuter!
