Iris Pallida by Cinzia Marotta

Oil on organic linen 40x80 cm (15.7x31.5") The idea for this nature art oil painting came to me when, walking near one of my favourite destinations – the Urbani pond – I came across this bush of sweet irises. Their colour was so intense that I decided to document them for some future use in some artwork. But once in my studio, they demanded a painting all for themselves. I added one single large white (Pieris Brassicae) as a contrast to the fleshiness of the flowers.
